Published at 25 Oktober 2019

BANDA ACEH – From July 27 to August 3, 2019, the Coding Mum program successfully took place in Banda Aceh, providing 80 housewives with essential coding and digital marketing skills. This initiative was organized by Bekraf ID, Kolla Space, Gumugu Academy, and Hellotive, which has now rebranded as Locative Coworking Space. The training was led by experienced mentors, Mas Yudi and Mas Aslan, who guided participants in building their own websites and leveraging digital platforms to expand their businesses.

Coding Mum aimed to empower women by introducing them to basic web development, digital marketing, and online entrepreneurship. Over the course of one week, participants learned how to create landing pages using HTML and CSS, optimize them for search engines, and promote their businesses through social media. The program was specifically designed for beginners, ensuring that even those with no prior technical knowledge could keep up and implement their new skills.

This initiative was more than just a coding workshop—it was a movement towards financial independence and digital empowerment for women. Many of the participants successfully launched their own websites, helping them reach wider audiences and increase their incomes. Some even transitioned into freelance web development or digital marketing roles.

The success of Coding Mum 2019 highlights the growing need for tech-driven economic empowerment programs in Indonesia. By equipping housewives with digital skills, the initiative not only enhanced their financial prospects but also contributed to a more inclusive digital economy. With such impactful results, there is a strong call for similar programs to be expanded in the future, reaching even more communities across the country.
